I just replaced my cousin's handme down dentist office aircompressor (btw if you are in the Los Angeles Area and like to work on old machines-come and get it. It has some problem with the motor control.)
I use the compressor to blow off negatives, fill tires, and I've got a brad nailer.
Air tools are usually cheaper and simpler than electric tools and last longer. Certainly a socket drive is a good investment, there are a lot of nice finish sanders that are only available for air. These are Auto body tools so they'd work well on a kayak.
And of course powering up soda bottle water rockets....http://www.northrim.net/wyanders/rocket/rocket.html

: I just purchased a compressor and nail gun for some home remodeling jobs.
: Does anyone use air tools or any sort for building? sanders, routers, etc?
: Maybe I need more tools
