Ted,
You could use "Authentic Block Oil" manufactured by John Boos & Company 315 Effingham Il. 62401. I buy this at the local Woodcraft store. This oil is 100% food safe and is used for salad bowls and butcher block boards. It comes in a plastic 15 oz bottle for about $10.00.
