Just wanted to post a pic showing a design that I've made that I'd like to incorporate into my deck. My kayak is white pine w/ the hull centerline and sheer strips in red oak. I'd like to do this design in oak as well, running the entire length of the deck centerline. The design would be 6" wide at its' widest point.

The top design will be on the front deck, and the bottom design will be on the rear deck. Some of the curves in the design still need some small amount of tweaking, especially at the extreme front and back.

My plan is to inlay this design using oak veneer. I have all winter to work on it, and I'm excited to start!
