Hi Justin,
That looks like a lot of work you have ahead of you. I am curious why you chose Oak veneer. As I understand Oak and epoxy don't mix well due to the tanic acid in it. I have seen it used so I'm not sure if that is really an issue. I would think that oak on pine would'nt have that much contrast and would not stand out as much as something darker like black walnut. The flames on my boats are solid wood strips so things like sanding and fairing were not an issue. Do you plan to over lay your veneer prior to glassing or do you plan to cut it in which I think would be a real time killer.
