JohnT, that's great. The very first CLCLT17 weighed 39lbs,,without deck glass endpours and hatches. I'm going from what I've seen in the variations of beginners boats and the weight of CLCs first demo LT18 built by a CLC employee. Not that it isn't possible to make one light as you have proven,,just that the opportunity to build a heavy Chesapeake is greater than other designs for a given level of durability,,,especially once you start glassing the bottom panel in the compartments or underside of the deck to have equivalent deck strength as a paneled s&g that has longitudinal joints.
Is your Ch17LT finished with 4oz deck glass, 3" tape, 6oz cockpit glass, and endpours filling up the gap left by the sheerclamps?
