I recently finished glassing my strip deck.
It is western red cedar.
I did the top first of course, let it sit for a week to cure.
Then I pulled it off the forms and flipped it over to plane the
underside and glass, then cure.
After finishing this step I placed the deck back on the hull
and found that the shape had changed dramatically.
In essence the curve of the deck from shear to shear is much
larger now and dose not match the bulkheads.
To get the outer edges of the deck to touch the shear strips
I have to use a strap clamp.
So my question is;
Should I stress the deck over the bulkheads or should I
reshape the bulkheads to fit the shape of the deck?
I have not cut my hatches yet.
If I reshape I will lose 1" of height at the top of the front bulkhead.
Thanks, Julie
