Hey Robert,

In my opinion, you hit the nail square on the head. When I joined the deck and hull on both my strippers, they were mis-matched considerably. I forces the sides of the hull out just past where it was supposed to be with spreader sticks by about 1/4" cause it was too narrow and squeezed the deck sheers in about 1/4" extra - it was too wide. Then I closed the garage doors and let the boat sit there all day in temp abt 100*F. Let it cool over night - then taped it together with no problem the next day. Worked for me on both boats.
