It has the normal tape and fillets, no deck glass, extra reinforcing around hatches, 4mm bulkheads, dammed/formed endpours, 6oz glass in cockpit, and laminated deck beam. 4 oz deck glass would probably add 2 lbs or so.
: JohnT, that's great. The very first CLCLT17 weighed 39lbs,,without deck glass
: endpours and hatches. I'm going from what I've seen in the variations of
: beginners boats and the weight of CLCs first demo LT18 built by a CLC
: employee. Not that it isn't possible to make one light as you have
: proven,,just that the opportunity to build a heavy Chesapeake is greater
: than other designs for a given level of durability,,,especially once you
: start glassing the bottom panel in the compartments or underside of the
: deck to have equivalent deck strength as a paneled s&g that has
: longitudinal joints.
: Is your Ch17LT finished with 4oz deck glass, 3" tape, 6oz cockpit glass,
: and endpours filling up the gap left by the sheerclamps?
