deck beam?

Is that a piece of plywood cut to the deck radius rather than a laminated deck beam?
If so, How did you fasten it to the shear clamp for strength?
If it works okay, it looks easier than making laminated beams.

Your end pour idea seems okay as long as you get the depth you need for any toggle holes you put in. I put a fairly substantial one in mine too. Didn't mind a few extra ounces.
