You are waxing poetic if you think that the graphite is you advantage. The water is only in contact with the outer surface. Smoothing you hull and waxing it are the reasons it is slipping through the water or off the rocks.
The graphite might add greater scratch resistance if it is true graphite. But I am pretty sure that the graphite in must pencil lead is not what you looking for.
Also I have read strength reports that showed that a over a 25% by weight ratio that the strength of the epoxy mix actually weakens.
The plecebo effect has gotten you. But then if you think it is working, it is. :-)
