I agree with Jim, I finished my Guilly L this summer and used the 5oz. Raka and it worked very well. I did seal the Yak first and then glassed one fill coat and a finish coat on the outside and a single coat on the inside. I think that it is very strong, but have not pulled into a garage with it on the roof to check, but that does sound like something that I would do. I was very pleased with Raka overall, but used US composites for my epoxy and was very happy with it also. I have not weighed my Yak, but I doubt that it is over 45 lbs. I have slid over many rocks and had not a lot of problems, but the graphite might be a good idea. I just hate to work so hard to make a beautiful wood boat and then cover it with black and not be able to see the fruits of my work. I am however a very practical man and if this is what it takes to make the yak more servicable then that is what should be used. My two cents. JR
