Robert,

I can certainly understand the logic of staying involved in something positive
when faced with something less so.

It sounds like you're getting serious about the World Masters Games based on
your paddling machine. I borrowed a homebuilt one from a friend and used it
for several years. It had a flywheel and a bicycle ratcheted rear cluster for
the take-up. It used an old broom handle loom. I learned to hate it over
time. ha!
