Dud flares and green lasers

When Ken and I were celebrating Canada Day during our Lake Winnipeg trip, I shot off some flares to add to the aura of the evening. The failure rate of my flares (pen launcher) was over 50%, these flares were anywhere from one to two years old not including shelf time in the store. This is a great argument in favour of buying Laser Flares. I'll be looking for one next time I'm at MEC. Thanks for the info.

Incidently, the flares that did work were beautful to see. They burned in nice reds, yellowy and greens. Didn't last nearly long enough to thorouoghly appreciate though.
