Oddly enough, I know when I need to read the instructions but because I've read so many books I generally don't need to. That drives people crazy, especially when I assemble a new thing the first time correctly.

Now, since we're off topic, have you ever rebuilt an alternator? The one in my '9 Honda is starting to crap out. I gotta go to work tomorrow morning in a windchill that is equaling -30 C or 2 F right now. I have to take the car but will be dressed for the walk if need be. I know I'll need new brushes but I don't know what else I'll need. Oh yeah, I want to put my kayak on the roof so I can take it to my mom's garage and start working on it (to get us back on topic) so you can now see that fixing the car is really really important.
