Tom .. I'd like to hear more about your folding boats.

Back about 1960 I wanted a kayak and would get the Klepper and Folboat catalogs, but never could afford any boat. 13 months ago I kayaked for the first time while visiting a friend in Mobile. That latent dream of owning a kayak resurfaced as I watched river otters play in a cypress swamp. I came back and bought, based on what I knew in 1960. It turns out that we live very close to a store called Klepper West (near Sacramento)owned by a german gentleman who has been in the business for many years. The Aerius II bought from him was our Christmas present.

Then I began taking lessons in the Pacific and quickly found myself wanting something different. We got on the kit idea and in July a friend, my wife, and I started building three CLC's. I launched 68 days later. My friend will launch this afternoon, and we launched my wife's boat three weeks ago.

Having said that I'd like to hear more about your boat, because I was very drawn to Feathercraft once I saw them, but of course they are very expensive. I already spent nearly 4 grand on the Klepper.

It seems like the hull and deck would be most difficult and expensive to make.
