this idea might be quite cool:

follow the link that miklos gave about relective edges on his yak:

and instead of worrying about the black or fill or gluing - buy some of that 1/8" black (or whatever) reflective seam tape and bury that under the glass or fill coats and don't worry about how good yr gluing is.

yr boat will pop in the most interesting way at nite.
