Hi Rick,
If it has a high tung oil content, then it should work fine. Pure tung oil would be better.
I used raw linseed oil and turpentine on my GP(Southern Yellow Pine) and it's holding up fine. Others have had trouble with linseed and mold particularly on frames. It may be that I paddle exclusively on salt water.
Tung oil is probably better for fresh water paddling, as well as sea, but I think linseed is fine for sea water paddling.
