Off Topic: Consider Scissors Too

In Response To: Off Topic: standard equipment or not? (Acors)

Throughout most of the years when I was an active SCUBA diver, I usually carried a simple knife that could be handled one-handed. It worked okay for those occasions when I needed to hack away fishing line or small-gauge wire. But I met another diver who pointed out that utility scissors are far more effective in some situations. They provide self-leverage, which gives TRUE one-handed usefulness. I haven't had to deal with fishing line while paddling but I keep the same simple knife strapped inside my PFD front pocket and sometimes bring the Henckels kitchen scissors when I remember them.
