Thanks for the offer, Toni, but since I've finished the kayak I don't have any current problems that need looking at. I don't believe there were any general developability issues such as you highlight - as I said I very strongly suspect panel twist as the cause. I was just trying to start a general discussion so we can learn from each others experiences.

Interesting comment about panel thickness. I had thought about that in terms of the overall dimansions of the kayak, but not in term of panel development. You are right that that will cause some very small discrepancies, but they will be very small. Also agree that in an ultimate package you would be able to enter the material and it would make sure that the minimum bend radius was respected. In an ideal world it would also do the same for twist: cope with it in panels but understand maximum possible twist and highlight building problems.
