I have the Artic Hawk along with another S&G boat, a Chesapeake LT 17, and a strip boat, an Outer Island. The Artic Hawk is a great boat, easy to maintain a 4.5 - 5 mph pace and it can handle swells and chop. It has enough storage for an overnighter or two. I hit the scales at 185lbs and the boat handles me and my gear without a problem.

The instructions for building the Hawk are quite detailed. Hard to mess things up if you take your time and read each section before proceeding.

Go for it.
