I hope to be there with my Night Heron. I won't have time to gussy her up, but at least she'll be available for test-paddling, and I hope to test paddle several of those you mentioned.

: There have been a couple of small posts regarding this weekends events. I am
: hoping that I won't be driving 6 hours for nothing...so I am going to post
: an email I got to encourage others to show up with boats, and to volunteer
: for demos etc. I'd like to learn as much as I can at this event...and
: hopefully see LOTS of beautiful boats at the same time. Who else is

: The Rendezvous is one day, Saturday, 8 am to 5 pm. There will
: be demos: Jay Babina will show how to teach yourself to roll, Brian
: Nystrom will be demonstrating Greenland paddle making, John Michne will
: talk about his Adirondack Guideboat construction techniques, Rob Macks
: will demonstrate stapleless stripping and I will fiberglass a hull if we
: can get it stripped in time. We are currently (frantically) working on
: three new designs to debut at the Rendezvous: the Aquila stitch n glue
: kayak, the Orion Hybrid, and the Rob Roy plywood canoe.

: So, I would be here Friday night and plan to spend as much time as you
: need here on Saturday. Lodging opportunities can be found at
: http://www.newfoundchamber.com/lodging.html . We will have these kayaks
: to paddle test: Outer Island, Spirit, Osprey, Excursion, Trekker,
: Explorer, Navigator, and Seeker. Canoes available will be the Otter,
: Traveler, and Abenaki.

: Bring your PFD, paddle, refreshments, and food. This is a State Park
: that has places to cook, but no camping and no vending facilities at
: this time of year. This is a rain or shine event so bring gear to keep
: warm if necessary and a change (or two) of clothes. There are changing
: rooms and restroom facilities.
