Hi Heiko,
I built one. Actually two, the first one got broke by cows. It's designed as more of a hand trolley than a trailer.

It's not finished yet, I need to make a more effective hitch for my trike.
I don't have any pictures of it in action.

I would advise going for a two wheeled trailer rather than a single wheel type. A single type does have a narrower track but it has a strong effect on your stability with the inertia of a kayak. A two wheeled trailer is self balancing.

The attachment point to the bike has some effects as well. The best point would be where the back tyre touches the the road but that's a bit difficult to achieve. The next best is an axle mounted hitch, then it's the seat-post type.
The higher the attachment point is, the more effect it has on the stability of the bicycle/trike.
