Brian,
I truely enjoy my BlueFin kayak. She is fast, likes to go straight, but will turn fairly well. But I must admit that when the white caps appear on the Hudson River, (near Hyde Park, NY, where I spend do some of my paddling) I find I am somewhat uncomfortable in it as it seems tippy to me. I will freely admit that this problem may be do to my inexperience and/or a perceived problem and not an actual problem, Otherwise I find it perfect. She is a fast classy looking boat, that seems to track well and turns fairly well. With a few minor changes, like a different back band and moving the seat position a bit by just repositioning the foam seat I carved, I fit well in her and have been comfortable for several hours. I am 6 feet even and weigh in at 205 pounds.
I have not camped using her so I cannot comment about gear space or how she might handle the waves fully loaded. HUMMM maybe I should try putting some weight in her hatches next time it is rough on the river.
I hope this helps,
John Van Buren
