Both of my kayaks are grounded for various reasons from repairs to incompleted construction. Sigh! The weather is ideal for autumn here in Edmonton and all I can do is keep working to get at least one of the kayaks completed. The incompeted construction kayak is in an understandable state of unseaworthiness. I have no excuses for what I did to the VJ, though. I was sipping red wine while sanding her bottom smooth while thinking about my big river trip slated for next year. One thing led to another and when I was done with the ROS, she was completely sanded down, including the new paint job I did last fall. I expect to have the RP Sport competed enough in two weeks to be paddling in it on a regular basis. Lesson learned: build more kayaks so that no matter how many are in dry dock - I will always have at least one to go by.
