Duncan Winning's drawing of the Ken Taylor kayak shows the waterline
carrying 147 lbs. 147 sounds a very exact number, but remember that
the British tend to think of people's weight in multiples of the stone,
which is 14 lb, so 147 lb is 10½ stone and is probably plus/minus a few
pounds (and probably doesn't allow for what he was wearing).

For ages I asked about how tall Ken Taylor was, and I know I eventually got
a definitive answer, but I've just searched about six places where I have
info about this kayak without finding where I recorded it ... Ah, found it !
He was 5'8".

All I need now is to know how big Geoff Blackford was - he was the one that
took the Ken Taylor drawing and built a stitch and glue boat from it which
eventually became the basis for the Anas Acuta. Clearly he didn't think Ken's
boat was big enough for him, but the Anas has the same beam and is just a bit
longer ...
