Im not that sure id use bamboo strips for the hull because of availability unless i use veneer and cold mold it, the weaved stuff its the best bet for me, and ill use that for the deck, using it for the hull would mean a sad time if theres a damage to repair, if not for the work involved in repairing a wood weave saturated in resin, im pretty sure that the repair will end being really visible. So for sure the bottom would be normal wood. A bamboo strip gives me always the picture of a nice split in the middle after a few years. Theres evidence of japanese hulls built with weaved bamboo like a basket and tarred... so borrowing from the ancients wisdom...
