George, why do you feel that you'd need to share the boat with your wife? You're a big guy. If your wife is average-sized then a boat that fits her comfortably probably won't accomodate you at all. And if the boat is built to accomodate you then she may not have such a good time paddling it. Kayaks should fit their paddlers as well as possible. If you build a boat specifically for your wife then you can always build another one for yourself.
