Sorry to stir up such a hornets nest guys. I used yellow glue for all the stripping so when I got to the stems I just kept going. FWIW, I used antique poplar for the stems that, prebent over my knee nearly held the shape at full size, no clamps, no glue, no forms. The bow stem would have been easy in one solid piece but the stern radius was just to tight and cracked, sooo since I laminated the stern I laminated the bow, three 3/4 x 1/8" strips glued up flat, flipped and glued directly to the hull in one step, clamped only with blue painters tape. If the stress is low enough to clamp with tape I should be safe from any creep. By the way, the stems were installed outside in a 100 year old chicken coop turned storage shed that in the heat of summer gets quite hot(imagine building in your attic) then moved to my enclosed but unheated porch, and eventually my dining room, when I could no longer stand the cold (I still need to glass this thing before it goes into another winter unfinished). From nearly 100 deg F to nearly -10 deg should be a pretty good test for glue creep.
