both for cost and time depending on features (how fancy you go with strip designs and stuff) its from the same to less for a canoe. If you go absolutely functional in building, without bothering with the fancy stuff the canoe its faster, you just need to pay the same attention to the inside that you pay for the outside. IF you think about weaving your own seats... well then that can rob you some time.
