: I still prefer to understand fuel mileage as "mpg" instead of
: "litres per 100 kms". I still prefer pounds over kilograms. I
: still like using gallons instead of litres. Those danged millimeters look
: so small when measuring out the length of a baseplate or stud, inches are
: fewer and easier to see on the old tape measure. All that I still prefer
: despite learning metric wayyyyy back in the 70's. I know measuring in
: tenths is more logical than in ounces/pounds/tons but hey, who says I have
: to be logical. Things were so much better in the old days (my Anglican
: (Episcopalian) roots showing.

Hi Robert,
I don't get that litre per 100km thing, nor do most people here, and we use km and litre! Not having gallons and such listed, I go for km/litre for fuel comsumption, the other way isn't intuitive.
I still use imperial in some cases, but mostly metric. One of the problems with non-metric measures is the differences, like gallons. Half a litre difference between Imperial and US is a bit confusing. Saying ounce to me means weight, not volume. I haven't a clue how much is in a cup as a measure, a cup is a drink holding device, some bigger than others.
Thank goodness for conversion tables. But you still have to know which 'Imperial' system is used.
