Speaking of which, have you tried one of the acupressure wrist bands?
David
: Bryan,
: I am not prone to it but you are not alone. For eleven seasons I lead annual
: kayaking whale watching trips on Montery Bay and the average is about 1 in
: 10.
: Check with an acupuncturist about the shallow tacks that are placed on the
: wrist. I have seen them work successfully on several crossing of the
: Straits of Magellan. I have also seen them fail so no guarantees. The
: location is three finger widths down from the wrist joint between the
: tendons. Since you are prone to sea sickness you should be able to locate
: a sensitive spot. It is the same spot that the acupressure wrist bands
: contact.
: I am not a doctor or acupuncturist so I have no right to be giving this
: information. Check with your local wizards.
: Some tips are eat a good breakfast and have snacks to munch for lunch. Keep
: eyes on the horizon for orientation. Keep paddling and don't look down at
: the spray skirt.
: Don't let it stop you. There are some world class sailors that are prone to
: seasickness. The good new is that your body will acclimate after about
: three days.
: Good luck,
: Reg
