: Ok I'm back with another question, Thanks to all who answered my last
: question I have cut and milled bead and cove into over 400' of strip which
: came out pretty good. But I know I will need more. Now to the question...
: When placing end forms on to strongback (using 2"x4" plywood
: beam as in Nick's book.) I see that the strongback must be trimmed at the
: bottom to fit in the dimensions of the boat...My issue is when I put
: endforms on to strongback, the butt ends(toward middle of boat)on the top
: of the end form, does not match at the top the first form that slides onto
: the strongback. Its about a .5" off... In my case it is form 4 and
: form 14 that the heights do not match. Do I have to cut the strongback
: down on the top as well as the bottom. Or do I cut the endform.
Kinda surprised that no one's answered this. I've only done external strongbacks but have read about the internal one. Usually the forms fit a little loose so you can shim them so they are perfectly lined up. For me anyway, darned near impossible to cut wood forms precise enough that they are perfectly lined up without shimming.
Hope this helps, maybe Nick can help more?
