: On the single I'm building, I am making the cockpit coaming riser out of
: 1/8" plywood, to be laminated with 6 oz glass on both sides, then
: another layer of glass over the hardwood coaming top. Does anybody know if
: one layer of the 1/8" ply will be strong enough? If not, I could
: double it up, but I would rather save the weight if I can.

I have built a couple of tandems with coamings made up of 3mm thick plywood strips covered with 4oz cloth. They seem to be more than strong enough.
