The key for me with vinyl was that it doesn't get used, therefore none of the problems you listed present themselves. It's a boat for display. For showing off. IMHO, there just isn't the durability for use. It's nice to have around for the wow factor, but I would rather paddle something that has more durability. It's all about looking cool -- not a primary kayak. At least, for me. The vinyl is nice material to make float bags, drybags, map cases, etc... out of though.
