My family was vacationing at a lake when I was about six (1940) and several wood boats were sunk in about a foot of water. I thought the boats were just old leaky boats until they told me they were swelling the planks shut to make the boat waterproof. These were rowboats with two hulls catamaran like. I've never see boats like them sense.
