Hi John,

Easier to remove the shrouds on one side of the mast and then flip the boat, after it's upright the mast still attached to the bow and other side can be brought onboard and drained. The Hobie's masts were supposed to be sealed so they didn't fill, after a few years though the sealant usually had failed somewhere and they sank. Had three Hobies over the years, still have a pair of Solcats, not sailed them in a long time either.
