Hi Tim

In my opinion plain old 6 oz glass is plenty strong. My last boat was 4oz. glass from Raka and it's plenty strong as well. I wouldn't spend the money or go through the hassle of using kevlar or S glass.

my last boat has one layer of 4oz inside and out with one layer on the outer hull bottom. It's survived a drop from 6 feet up recently with only a small delamination at the contact point. It weighes just under 40 pounds for a 19' boat. I only use one layer of glass (not tape) at the shear inside and out.

Can't help with bagging I don't have the ability at home to do it.

I slant the aft bulk head but not for flex. They aren't going to flex once locked in all around. I slant to reduce to water volume of the cockpit. You don't need kevlar tape, it will be plenty strong with standard tape.

I haven't needed a rub strip on any of my boats yet.

I can't answer your question on coamings. But I have enough trouble getting my skirt on in the cold on a standard coaming.

I have five boats now, they have survived an awful lot of abuse, droppped from car tops, run into bridge embutments and road signs, dropped from ceilings, run into rocks, had bottoms sanded by the beach etc. Most the damage has been nothing more than a little varnish to clean it up and make it look pretty again.
