Hi Pat,
It is probably the mineral spirit. It leaves an oily contamination on epoxy giving those fish-eyes.
Do sand back the effected area and wash the entire hull with water and dry with non-shedding paper towels.

A piece of denim will take off sawdust if it's loose.
