Tim-- Well, if it was a true 1 x6 you would have paid $5.75 per board foot. Whether or not that's a good price depends on where you live. Here in the Northeast it would be a good price. Maybe not so good if you live in Oregon.
You shouldn't have any problem buiding with your .68 stock.
