There's only two downsides to the Cabinet saw. Price and moveability. The weight of the construction is a nice thing for vibration and noise and in most cases accuracy.
I have the Rigid contrctors and I'm totally happy and came from a middle quality craftsman shop saw. Others on this forum like the Bosch too. I like being able to wheel it out on the driveway if I want. Ripping strips creates and enormous amount of debree and dust and unless you have a super shop with a great exhauset and vacuum set-up, doing that outside is the only way to go. Pus you have to consider the length of strips.
Get both. A contractors and a 220 - $1000. shop saw too. Start buying your wife flowers now!
