I think the ideal setup for you saw situation would be a contractor's table saw and decent band saw. The total cost would be less than a mid-grade cabinet saw.
The band saw will allow you to get into so many other aspects of woodworking.
It will allow you do cut wood strips with out as much waste (curf of bandsaw blade = 0.05", curf of table saw blade = 0.10". All of the difference between the two turns into saw dust)
Resawing boards into veneers, pattern work.. the list goes on...
Especially in Canandaigua area. My brother lived there for a number of years. With all those old mature trees, there is a abundant supply of "mill you own lumber" available.
I am saving my pennies to add a Woodmizer to my arsenal...
