There is a house building used parts depot near us. For reasons that I do not completely understand, they make shipping pallettes out of beautiful dark red mahagony in the Phillipines (!!) .

This used house parts guy sold me two 2 x 4's , about 7 feet long for about $2. Wow!!~

I did do some culling to get fairly clear pieces, Both pieces had 3 nails in them ... one had small wormholes for the first 10 in. But a fantastic deal, nonetheless.

Just a "heads up" to keep your eyes open in your city, or town. These shipping pallettes probably go all over the world.

PS. You will clearly need a high quality saw blade to mill these ... they were very hard.
