I had enough room to mount my compass under the deck. The Ritchie S-53G came with a light bulb and even though I wasn't going to mess with it, I couldn't resist. I put a simple switch in, but the main thing is I found a model airplane battery holder for 8 AA batteries on e-bay, which is a compact power source.

I received my blow up pontoons from Folbot yesterday, very nice. I will post a picture of one blown up and one collapsed to give and idea of just how small they fold up, and give the sizes. Had I known about these before hand I wouldn't have knocked myself out trying to make my own.
