: I have chosen a few examples of boats that I think would fit his needs: Necky
: Chatam 17, Wilderness Systems Tempest 170, Valley Aquanaut. Any
: suggestions or comments on these poly boats or any other you suggest, are
: appreciated.
The Chatham 17 has a very low rear deck, and I have a friend who owns one and didn't really like that. He's selling the kayak now for around $800ish. The 16 is much more fun. A used Valley Skerray might be a real fun kayak for him. With his height he'd probably just hit the last foot peg slot. I happen to know where two of those are on sale for $750 each. (In MN.)
You might be able to find the new WS Zephyr. It's a Dagger Meridian in plastic. Should be a sweet kayak if it paddles like a Meridian. We ordered two for use in our fleet next year.
Hurricane Tracer 165 is a nice boat.
