More and more commercial kayaks are higher in rocker since the drop down skeg is now the norm.
The trade is loss of hull speed and the possibility of weather cocking. It's too bad that you can't try the boat and make that decision for yourself rather than base it on a write-up about the boat. All kayak designers / manufacturers will pretty much tell you anything you want to hear. Many advertise their boats as good trackers and they can turn fine and some say very manuverable to keep those who worry about turning happy.

If you just add rocker it can start creating a bow wave. That's why rockered boats are puckered in at the bow to extend the bow wave back further. Otherwise water just starts to build up at the bow. So unless your designer is really knowledgeable about these things, to just to add rocker to a un-tried boat is a gamble.
