Thanks guys. It sounds like I would have to build a surfski style "cockpit" into my Mystery to make it possible for the venturi drain to have a chance to work. I think the foot pump has more potential to work for what I need; as long as the weight is not too high and the pump can empty the cockpit fairly quickly.
