I took a look at my King and would have to say that no, there is no hollow in the bow. I assume that when you say that the strips are off the form that they are off the form an equal amount on both sides of the kayak. The first things to check are station spacing and station alignment. Perhaps station #1 is too high (when the boat is right side up). Checking the reference lines and shearline fairness will diagnose that problem. If everything seems to measure out correctly, it's time to give Joe a call. If it is only unfair on one side, let us know and we can carry on with more advice.
You can see photos of my King at http://www.metakrome.com/kayak/king.html. It's a great boat by the way.

: I getting ready to strip my Redfish King and find the strips are fair to I
: get to the area between station 2 and the inside stem. It lays about 1/4
: inch from the # 1 station. When I pull it in it makes for a convex curve.
: Is this the way this boat is designed? This my first strip built and am a
: bit concerned as it seems to take the fair out of the hull.
