Matching Okoume with epoxy/wood flour mix
In Response To: S&G: Matching Okoume with epoxy/wood flour mix (Dusty Yevsky)
The best and perhaps easiest way to match the wood is use the wood. Peel off some face veneer and cut a piece and jam it in the opening. It can sit proud and sand it off later. You can even be sloppy. As long as it's filled. Once you sand it off flush, you will never see it.
You can spend weeks with trial and error trying to match a color with epoxy and dust etc. If you get the epoxy / dust on the surrounding wood and contaminate it, your problem is worse.
