Hi Chris,
I'm not familiar with the expression, but I'm not sure that I would call it a kayak anymore. I'm not sure what I would call it at all; a kayak with boudoir? It certainly isn't pretty. However, not to take anything away from the boys, to paddle across the Tasman Sea is quite something, whatever it is their paddling.
