It's certainly very satisfying building kayak of your own design and having it exhibit all the characteristics you planned.
You might have seen the picture I posted a few months ago of the 4.57 metre kayak I designed and built for my wife.
Like you I couldn't find a design with the characteristics she wanted for a kayak to paddle on the local lakes and estuaries.
She now has a kayak designed for a 60kg paddler with very strong tracking that weighs just 10kg without the seat and footrest.
